1. About this site
MaineCountyWebsites.com is the advertising and sponsorship hub for an independent network of community guide websites covering the sixteen counties of Maine. The site is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any county government or municipality. Each county site in the network has its own terms page.
2. Advertising
Sponsor placements are sold on a flat monthly basis as described on the Advertise page. A placement is advertising, plainly labeled as such, and is not an endorsement by the network, a county, or any municipality. The network may refuse, suspend, or remove any advertisement that is illegal, deceptive, inaccurate, or a poor fit for a community page. Placement is offered first come, first served, per site and per spot.
3. Accuracy and AI-assisted content
Some network site text may be created or refined with generative AI and reviewed by the creator. Content can be incomplete or inaccurate; verify current details with the business, agency, or land manager before relying on them. The sites do not offer AI chat advice.
4. External services
County site links, maps, fonts, news, weather, and event resources point to third parties controlled by their respective publishers. We do not control their content, availability, or privacy practices.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use this site unlawfully, interfere with its operation, scrape for spam, or attempt unauthorized access. Report problems to the contact email on the Contact page.
6. Content and disclaimer
Unless otherwise noted, original text, design, and code are created by Alexander Wasson. Photographs are separately licensed and credited on the Photo Credits page. The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, the site creator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site, its links, or its advertising.
7. Governing law
These terms follow the law of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
